Cosplay Competition Registration

How can I enter the Cosplay Competition at Moricon 2026?

You can enter using the registration form above! The form remains open until 28.08.2026. Applications submitted after 23:59:59 will not be processed.

When will I receive a response?

Information about the acceptance or rejection of your application will be sent no later than 01.09.2026. If we find an obvious mistake in your registration form, we will contact you before then and let you know what needs to be corrected.

I submitted my application with a mistake! How can I fix it?

If you made a mistake in your application, do not wait - contact us at [email protected]. Keep in mind that we accept application changes only until 05.09.2026.

Who should fill in the registration form if we want to perform as a group?

If participants wish to perform as a group of two or more, please choose one representative who will complete the form on behalf of the whole group. This person will be responsible for communicating with our staff, and we will contact them regarding acceptance, rejection, or any other questions about the application.

Is a performance introduction necessary?

You do not have to provide an introduction. If you leave it blank, the host will write one. Remember that the introduction is a kind of “trailer” for your performance, and the host’s version may not be perfectly aligned with your creative vision.

Can I enter the Cosplay Competition at Moricon 2026 if I am under 18?

Yes, but only if you bring two documents completed and signed by your legal guardian - the standard Legal Guardian Consent for convention attendance and the Legal Guardian Consent for participation in the Cosplay Competition. Without these documents, we cannot allow you to participate in the Competition.

Can I use props in my performance?

Yes, just let us know - you can use the “Additional notes” section of the form. On the day of the Competition, our staff will verify the safety of your props.

Are props used in the Cosplay Competition exempt from the Moricon 2026 Safety Rules and Regulations?

No. Every contestant is required to follow both the Moricon 2026 Safety Rules and Regulations and the Moricon 2026 Cosplay Competition Rules.

Can I perform in a store-bought costume or use props I did not make myself?

Yes. Make sure to indicate this in your application form and list all elements that were not made by you. These parts of your costume will not be taken into consideration during scoring. If your cosplay is store-bought or commissioned, the jury will not award points for its construction - only your stage performance will be scored.

Do I have to attend the Cosplay Competition Rehearsal?

Yes. Absence from the rehearsal will result in disqualification.

How will I learn the time and location of the Competition and its rehearsal?

The Cosplay Competition will take place on Saturday, 12.09.2026. All details for contestants, including the time and location of the rehearsal and the exact Competition schedule, will be sent by email no later than 08.09.2026.

Does a prop used only during the performance still require the verification specified in the Moricon 2026 Safety Rules and Regulations?

Yes. Every weapon replica brought onto the convention grounds must pass a safety check at accreditation.

Is there anything else I need to know before the Competition?

All important details for qualified contestants will be sent by email no later than 08.09.2026, so check your inbox regularly!

When does the Cosplay Competition take place?

The Cosplay Competition takes place on the convention’s Saturday every year. This year, it will be held on 12.09.2026.

Do I have to attend the Cosplay Competition Rehearsal?

Yes. Absence from the rehearsal will result in disqualification.

Can I rehearse my performance more than once?

Yes! During the Competition Rehearsal, participants can practise until they are satisfied with the result. Every participant is required to complete at least one rehearsal so that everyone can familiarise themselves with the stage and its surroundings.

How will I be introduced on stage?

At the beginning of each performance, the host will introduce you using the nickname provided in your form. If you do not provide a nickname, the host will introduce you using your full name.

What is the Jury Round?

The Jury Round is a dedicated time for the individual assessment of each contestant. During this stage, the jury speaks with every contestant and evaluates the quality of the costume, the crafting techniques used, and its accuracy to the original design.

Can I ask the jury about my performance?

Yes, but please do so after the Competition. The jury will remain after the show and be available to speak with contestants about their costumes, performances, or possible future improvements.
